Amsterdam is a food walhalla for Herons. They can snack some left over fish at the end of the day at our markets. Get fed by numerous old ladies that throw their leftover bread out of the window. Or try to catch their fresh food in the canals or ditches.

This heron is patiently waiting, with his legs deep in the water, looking for a fish to snatch. Good luck!

Amsterdam is een walhalla voor de hongerige reiger. Ze kunnen hun slag slaan op de Dappermarkt, de Albert Cuyp markt of een van de overige viskraampjes. Rustig wachten tot het eind van de dag, er blijft meestal wel wat voor ze over. 
Dametjes op leeftijd die hun oude brood voor ze uit het raam gooien is ook een optie. 

Maar ouderwets je eigen verse vis scoren bij een gracht of sloot is natuurlijk het lekkerst.  Deze reiger wacht geduldig en stil op zijn prooi, met zijn poten diep in het water. Succes Reiger!
