Here in Amsterdam I regularly meet a swan family with 5 fledglings.

I think young swans are just as beautiful as the plain white ones, but the fairy tale of the "ugly" duckling, which turns into a "beautiful” swan always comes to mind.

Ugly and Beautiful are so subjective. What did you encounter in life, what was said to you, what associations do you have, how much did you see that altered your perspective. All these things change the way you perceive something as likable or not.

Would there be bullying in the animal world as there is at schools?

-You look different so you are stupid or ugly? -I hope not. Let's realize that everyone is beautiful or ugly in their own way. And that in the end it is about how do you feel within yourself.

If you feel beautiful and good about yourself, you will usually also look at the world and others with a more positive outlook. With few exceptions...

I mean, let's hope there are no narcissistic swans ;-)

Did you know a swan represents purity, grace, dignity and yes, beauty. If there is a swan in your dreams, it could mean that something or someone that you initially find unattractive may turn out to be very attractive.

So in short, just view the world with an open mind.

'Fledgling Swan'' - 5x5 cm - LG

Hier in Amsterdam kom ik regelmatig een zwanenfamilie tegen met 5 jonge zwanen.

Ik vind jonge zwanen minstens zo mooi als de effen witte ouders maar moet altijd denken aan het sprookje van het ‘lelijke' eendje, dat veranderd in een’ mooie' zwaan.

Lelijk en Mooi is zo subjectief. En het maakt ontzettend veel uit wie of wat je in je leven tegenkomt of je iets mooi vindt of juist lelijk. Wat is er tegen je gezegd,

welke associatie heb je, wat heb je allemaal gezien waardoor je beeld verandert is?

Zou er in de dierenwereld ook gepest worden zoals vroeger op school?

-Jij ziet er anders uit dus je bent stom of lelijk?- Ik hoop van niet. Laten we ons realiseren dat iedereen 'mooi' of 'lelijk' is op zijn eigen manier. En dat het uiteindelijk vooral gaat om hoe je jezelf van binnen voelt.

Als jij je mooi en goed voelt over jezelf zul je meestal ook met een positievere blik naar de wereld en naar anderen kijken. Uitzonderingen daargelaten...

En nu maar hopen dat er geen narcistische zwanen zijn ;-)

Wist je dat een zwaan staat voor zuiverheid, gratie, waardigheid en jawel schoonheid. Komt er een zwaan voor in je dromen dan kan dat betekenen dat iets of iemand die je in eerste instantie onaantrekkelijk vindt, juist erg aantrekkelijk kan blijken te zijn.
